BOAS 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting
Submit your abstract for the opportunity to present your work at BOAS 2026. The best oral presentation will receive a £400 prize and the best poster £250. (non-consultant grade presenting authors only).
Guidance for Abstract Submission
Please read the guidelines carefully before preparing and submitting your abstract. Ensure that your abstract meets all requirements in order to be considered for the oral or poster presentation.
Abstract Categories
Abstracts must relate to ophthalmic anaesthesia and may include:
• Original research • Surveys
• Quality Improvement • Case reports
• Audit • Service Evaluation
Consent and Approval
Obtain all necessary approvals (REC, R&D, Audit Department or Caldicott Guardian in the UK or equivalent outside the UK).
For case reports, written consent from the subject must be obtained before submission.
Key Dates
• Submission Deadline: Friday 7th August 2026
• Decision Notification: Friday 21st August 2026
• Meeting Date: Thursday 1st October & Friday 2nd October 2026
Preparing your Abstract
• Maximum 450 words (excluding title, authors, references, figures & tables).
• Use the correct section headings for your abstract type.
• Follow formatting, tables/figures and reference guidelines.
• AI tools may be used for language and grammar editing only.
• All use of AI must be declared at submission.
• Authors remain responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all work.
Submitting your Abstract
Once completed, email your abstract to:
Abstracts should be received no later than Friday 7th August 2026.
Important
Late submissions will not be considered for oral presentation but may still be considered for a poster.
The presenting author must register, attend and present at BOAS 2026 on Thursday 1st October 2026.
Important Information
Early Bird rate ends on Friday 14th August 2026. All fees are per person and includes access to all scientific sessions, exhibition, refreshments and conference materials.
